Don’t eat fruits when you are Fasting! This surprises many people.
“If fruits are healthy, why avoid them during fasting?” Because fruits stimulate insulin release. And fasting is about keeping insulin
low, not triggering it.
Fruits, even though natural and nutritious, stimulate insulin release. When the
goal of fasting is metabolic rest, adding fruits works against that purpose. This does not mean insulin is bad. In fact, insulin plays a very important and
positive role in the body. It helps glucose enter the cells, supports growth,
builds strength, and gives the body shape. That is why people who train with
weights often eat bananas. They are using insulin intelligently to build
muscle.
The issue arises only when insulin remains elevated for long periods.
So the rule is simple
→ Fasting days - avoid fruits
→ Non-fasting days - fruits are perfectly fine
Want to gain clarity?
↳
Do a fasting insulin test (morning, empty stomach)
↳
A healthy range is roughly 2.6–6
Health is rarely about extremes. It is about timing, context, and balance.
P.S. Did this change the way you look at fruits on fasting days?
