Why Do Indians Love Rotis and Rice So Much?

Ever noticed how TV ad shows three rotis with one bowl of sabzi? Yet that's how we eat.

Rotis and rice have a sweetish taste that triggers serotonin and dopamine in our brains. We literally become addicted to carbs. The Problem is → It's a double-edged sword.

Too many carbs → High insulin → Liver fat → More cholesterol

But here's what most don't know → Too few carbs are equally bad.

Your brain needs carbs for energy and those feel-good hormones. Excess protein harms kidneys, excess fats raise cholesterol.

3 Simple solutions for this
1. Remove refined carbs → Eliminate maida products, white rice, bakery items
2. Choose whole grains → Brown rice, ancient wheat varieties (Khapli, Bansi), millets, barley
3. Follow the 25% rule → Keep carbs to one-quarter of your plate
Example: 1 roti + 1 katori dal + 1 katori vegetables + salad

Carbs aren't the enemy. Choose the RIGHT ones, in the RIGHT amounts.

That's the way to do it.
