Ever noticed how TV ad shows three rotis with one bowl of sabzi? Yet that's how we eat.
Rotis and rice have a sweetish taste that triggers serotonin and dopamine in
our brains. We literally become addicted to carbs. The Problem is → It's a double-edged sword.
Too many carbs → High insulin → Liver fat → More cholesterol
But here's what most don't know → Too few carbs are equally bad.
Your brain needs carbs for energy and those feel-good hormones. Excess protein
harms kidneys, excess fats raise cholesterol.
3 Simple solutions for this
1. Remove refined carbs → Eliminate maida products, white rice, bakery items
2. Choose whole grains → Brown rice, ancient wheat varieties (Khapli, Bansi),
millets, barley
3. Follow the 25% rule → Keep carbs to one-quarter of your plate
Example: 1 roti + 1 katori dal + 1 katori vegetables + salad
Carbs aren't the enemy. Choose the RIGHT ones, in the RIGHT amounts.
That's the way to do it.
