If your salary dropped by 30% tomorrow, would you still love
your work?
The bravest decision one can make today is to follow your
Ikigai. The Japanese have a beautiful word — Ikigai — meaning “a reason for
being.”
In a world where profits are unpredictable and unreal, what if we rely on work
that gives you peace, joy, and a sense of purpose.
For me, following a fitness regimen and influencing others is my Ikigai. ðŸ§
It’s not because it earns me money, It’s not therefore something that brings
the biggest paycheck, it does not. It’s because when I follow my fitness
regimen, I get the best chemicals out, I feel a whole. When I am attuned to the youngsters I am influencing and
theirs a wow experience, it is the most fulfilling part of my work.
I try to learn from the Japanese professionals who will gladly accept a smaller
salary if it means doing work they truly love. They’ll adjust expenses, buy
less, live simply — because their wealth is measured in contentment, not just
currency.
In today’s volatile world — where markets crash overnight and social “approval”
changes with every trend — anchoring your life to what genuinely fulfills you
may be the only real stability you can have.
So here’s my question to you:
👉 If money, titles, and
other people’s opinions didn’t matter… what would your Ikigai be?
