Diabetes & Sleep Quality

Is there a connection between Diabetes and Sleep? Yes, a very strong one.

We see two things repeatedly:
1. Diabetes disturbs sleep.
↳ Frequent urination, thirst, or low sugars at night break the rhythm of rest.

2. Poor sleep worsens diabetes.
↳ Irregular sleep, late nights, or too much daytime napping disturb hormones, increase hunger, and push the body towards insulin resistance.

Ayurveda says the same
→ Sleeping during the day increases Kapha, linked to Prameha (diabetes).
→ Staying awake after 10 PM disturbs the body’s natural cleansing and weakens Ojas your inner vitality.

The solution is simple yet powerful
→ Sleep before 10 PM
→ Keep a regular sleep schedule
→ Avoid heavy dinners and long naps

Whether you trust modern science or ancient wisdom, the message is one. Good sleep is not a luxury it is medicine for Diabetes.

PS: How many hours of Quality sleep do you get every Night?
