Prolonged Fasting : The Art

“Prolonged fasting is NOT about eating nothing.” Most people think fasting means starving.

But the truth is if you want to succeed with a prolonged fast, you must master two things

1. The mind
2. The medical side

Let’s talk about the mind first.

The mind feels easy when the body feels easy. And the body feels easy when you keep feeding it the right things every 15–20 minutes.

Here’s a simple recipe that makes fasting feel magical
→ 1 litre water + 1 tsp soaked Sabja (chia seeds)
→ A pinch of saffron (mood stabilizer)
→ Lemon + a little salt
→ Sip this every 15–20 mins.

Add in steamed salads, hot soup, a smoothie (without fruit), some nuts & seeds, and even green/white/black tea.

You’ll be surprised how much there actually is to eat while still fasting.

Now for the medical part.
If you’re on diabetes meds → stop them during the fast.
If on insulin → reduce dosage first 2 days, may need to stop.
If on BP meds → reduce/stop, but keep measuring sugar & BP 4 times a day.
Thyroid & heart meds → continue.
Supplements → stop.
Gallbladder removed? → take an antacid morning & night.
