One vegetable I often recommend during Menopause &
Andropause.
When hormones start shifting in your 40's and 50's, the goal is not restriction
it’s stability.
There’s a simple vegetable that supports this beautifully because it works on
multiple systems at once
- Provides resistant starch → no sharp sugar or insulin spikes
- Rich in magnesium & potassium → supports nerves, muscles, and metabolism
- Positively influences cortisol (stress hormone)
- Helps relax blood vessels → better circulation
- High in fiber → supports estrogen signaling in women and testosterone–insulin–cortisol balance in men
That vegetable is sweet potato (Shakarkandi)
Boil it, With a pinch of salt Or a little cinnamon. Even plain it’s naturally
satisfying.
NOTE: If blood sugars are very high, or there is kidney disease or potassium
restriction, this may not be suitable.
Sometimes, hormonal balance doesn’t need complexity. It needs the right food,
at the right time, for the right body.
